The palms, symbol of the tropics, belong to the family of Arecaceae. The palms, are an inseparable part of the Cuban landscape, are found in all plant formations.

In the Palmetum we have one of the largest collections in the world of palms, with more than 250 sp. (about 90 Cubans)
