Representation of the arid zones of different parts of the world and of Cuba.
The desert and semi-desert areas of the world gather peculiar plants with incredible adaptations that allow them to resist the intense droughts avoiding losing water and storing the water they absorb during brief periods of rain. They are found in different areas of the Earth and in different heights. In these areas there are abundant plants with small leaves, with thorns and succulent stems. In Cuba, this vegetation occupies the southern strip of Guantanamo, where cactus and succulent flatlands abound.
